Benefits of the Delta 8 Strain

If you’re still a bit unsure about what delta 8 THC is and why you’ll love it, we hope this post helps clear it up. Is delta 8 considered a “strain” from the hemp plant? What are its benefits anyway? What are the strains I should know about? There are a few ways to answer these questions.

Delta 8 THC is a few things…

Delta 8 THC is a relative of CBD and THC, and is actually what’s called an isomer of THC. This means it’s chemically identical to THC — meaning the classic, OG, delta 9 THC. However, the arrangement of its particles is the main thing that differs. This causes delta 8 THC to fall into a category of its own with its own benefits and uses.

Not a “strain”

So, no, delta 8 THC is not a strain in itself. Instead, like other THC products, the extract used can fall into one of three main categories described in further detail below. Delta 8 THC instead describes the overarching cannabinoid content.

Legal

This is a good moment to point out, too, that delta 8 can be derived with minimal THC. This is what makes it legal. According to the 2018 Farm Bill, as long as any hemp product or derivative contains less than 0.3% THC content, it’s federally legal.

What “strain” really means

If you’re new to cannabis or have been holding out for a legal option, delta 8 THC is a fantastic start. In fact, the legality of delta 8 is one of the main things that make it so great. Another cool thing is that you can still explore different strains of hemp with delta 8 and experience the unique calming, uplifting, high it’s known for.

Many people also report that they’re able to focus and be productive while using delta 8 (which definitely isn’t the case for THC). The following descriptions may be somewhat vague, however, you’ll have to browse specific products and experience them yourself to truly find your favorites.

Indica

Indica strains are known to provide more intense, full-body calming effects. They’re great to enjoy on a night in (or lazy afternoon). Shop our collection of Indica products >>

Sativa

Sativa strains, on the other hand, will still offer calming effects. However, they will likely provide more of an effect on your overall mood and temperament. Shop our collection of Sativa products >>

Hybrid

Hybrid strains combine Indicas and Sativas in a wide range of ways. Depending on the formulation, you may experience more effects in your body or your mind. Shop our collection of Hybrid products >>

Relax your way

No matter what delta 8 THC product or strain you pick, you can enjoy it in a variety of ways. The biggest symptomatic benefits of delta 8 THC are its ability to fight anxiety, nausea, pain, and appetite issues. Thus, in different strengths, you can enjoy delta 8 in more of a recreational or a treatment-based manner. It’s important to discuss this option with your healthcare provider before you do, though.

If you’re hoping to shop the best delta 8 products (even ones you won’t find anywhere else) you’re in the right spot. Direct Delta 8 is your place for all things delta 8 THC. Plus, you can rest assured that all of our brands are setting the standard for the rest of the industry for quality and purity. Not to mention, we don’t want to kill your high with high prices (cheesy, we know, but we mean it).
