What is Delta-8 Syrup?

Looking for a new way to enjoy delta-8 THC — above and beyond the gummies and tinctures you’ve been using?

If so you’ll probably love delta-8 syrup. This new type of delta-8 product is every bit as sweet as it sounds! Keep reading to learn why D8 syrup is so exciting.

Delta-8 THC 101

Delta-8 THC might be the hottest cannabinoid of the year. Why’s that? Because it offers a rare opportunity to get high from hemp. The delta-8 high is fun, gentle, and manageable — many users compare it to having a glass or wine or beer. Experts call delta-8 ‘THC lite’…and they do so for good reason!

Delta-8 is also super healthy. According to the National Cancer Institute it possesses a variety of “antiemetic, anxiolytic, appetite-stimulating, analgesic, and neuroprotective properties.” [1]

Some of its other potential benefits include:

  • Appetite regulation
  • Mood upliftment
  • Pain alleviation

Amazingly enough, delta-8 THC provides its physical and mental benefits without causing any crazy side effects (unless you’re super sensitive to it or something). One study put it this way: “delta 8-THC caused increased food consumption and tendency to improve cognitive function, without cannabimimetic side effects.” [2]

Delta-8 THC may even balance out the hormonal changes that take place with delta-9 THC use. Studies show it might increase your brain’s levels of an important cellular messenger called acetylcholine; this vary same neurotransmitter can become depleted with chronic cannabis smoking. [3

How is delta-8 THC able to have such balanced effects? It all goes back to the receptors this cannabinoid binds to. While CBD binds to CB2 receptors throughout the body and delta-9 THC binds to CB1 receptors throughout the mind, delta-8 THC binds to them both! This multifaceted binding affinity gives Delta-8 truly multifaceted effects.

One more benefit: delta-8 THC is already oxidized/reduced, so it’s super shelf-stable. It’ll last longer than almost any other hemp/cannabis product will.

How to use delta-8 syrup

Now that we’ve covered the ins and outs of delta-8, let’s get to the good part and dive deep into delta-8 syrup. (Not literally, of course!)

First things first: what is delta-8 syrup? It’s actually exactly what you’d think based on its name — a simple syrup infused with a hefty dose of delta-8. Delta-8 syrup makes taking a large D8 dose easy…and enjoyable.

How does one take delta-8 syrup? That’s also pretty simple. Just pour a serving into your drink of choice, or take a little swig! It’s a similar option to drinking delta-8 seltzers. Our delta-8 syrup products are marked into ten high-strength serving sizes. Be sure to start off slowly if you’re new to delta-8.

How slow is slow enough for your first experience with delta-8 syrup? Let’s do a little math to answer that one. Most single servings of delta-8 syrup contain about 20 milligrams of delta-8. Those who are new to D8 shouldn’t take much more than half of that…and may want to go even lower. Consider taking one-quarter to one-half of a ‘normal’ serving to start out with.

From there you can slowly up things (or lower things) over time. Be patient with yourself, as your body’s endocannabinoid system may take a little time to adjust to any given dose. This process is called titration by cannabis pharmacology experts, but you can just think of it as an easy way to optimize your dosing in real time.

Here are some other dosing guidelines for delta-8 syrup:

Starter dose: 2-5 milligrams delta-8 THC (up to one-quarter of a serving)

Intermediate dose: 5-10 milligrams delta-8 THC (up to one-half of a serving)

Advanced dose: 10-15 milligrams delta-8 THC (up to three-quarters of a serving)

Ascended dose: 30+ milligrams delta-8 THC (1.5 or more servings)

Delta-8 syrup works much like delta-8 tinctures do. In many ways they’re a sublingual product, as they get absorbed through your mouth and through your digestive tract. This type of absorption leads to pleasantly ‘timed-released’ effects. Once your syrup shot has kicked in, expect its effects to last for 5+ hours.

Delta-8 THC syrup is a fully legal hemp-derived product. Despite being so high in delta-8, it contains less than 0.3% delta-9 THC by dry weight — and that means it’s 100% legal on the federal level.

That being said, some states plan to ban D8 sales soon, and some have banned the cannabinoid already. Here’s a list of legal no-go’s:

  • Arizona
  • Arkansas
  • Colorado
  • Delaware
  • Idaho
  • Iowa
  • Kentucky
  • Mississippi
  • Montana
  • New York
  • North Dakota
  • Rhode Island
  • Utah
  • Vermont
  • Washington

* Be sure to stay tuned as delta-8 laws continue to change and evolve. It’s highly possible that delta-8 will become legal in more states in the near future, as regulators and researchers alike begin to acknowledge its health benefits! And don’t worry about inadvertently breaking the law — if delta-8 is illegal in your state, we simply won’t ship it to you.

Why buy delta-8 syrup from us?

Why should you buy delta-8 syrup from us? Because we offer the best selection out there, that’s why!

To be a little more objective, here are a few things to consider before buying delta-8 syrup from any source:

  • Its spectrum
  • Its ingredients
  • Its potency

Its spectrum

The best online cannabis/hemp brands tend to provide their customers with full spectrum products — products that contain a full array of hemp’s best ingredients, not just one or two isolated cannabinoids. These ingredients work better together, after all! [4]

* Though full spectrum stuff is usually better, this status is more important for CBD products.  Most delta-8 products feature a D8 isolate/distillate that’s plenty powerful enough.

Its ingredients

It doesn’t make much sense to feature delta-8 alongside known toxins or artificial ingredients. That’s why our team at DD8 carefully vets every product we carry before releasing it to the public. Products must meet the following standards to make the cut:

  • Is it tested by 3rd-party labs?
  • Is it produced from ‘safe’ extraction methods?
  • Is it completely free from synthetic ingredients?

Its potency

Not everyone needs a D8 product as strong as Dough Delta’s 1000mg syrup. But hey, why not make these types of products available for those who do? DD8 Shop offers products of all strengths and sizes, so you’re sure to be able to find something for you.

While not everyone needs a crazy-potent delta-9 product, it sure doesn’t hurt to make them available. At DD8 we offer a little something for everybody…including the seasoned cannabis connoisseur who’s looking for an intense experience!

Delta-8 syrup vs. delta-9

Even the strongest delta-8 product tends to feel a little different than delta-9. Delta-8 highs tend to feel free and easy to handle. They aren’t usually overpowering like delta-9 highs can be. No wonder experts call delta-8 ‘THC lite!’ Delta-8 THC almost always feels:

  • Clarifying
  • Controlled
  • Gentle
  • Joyful

While delta-9 THC usually feels:

  • Intense
  • Wavelike
  • Sedating
  • Overpowering

All in all, delta-8 THC is simply not as psychotropic as delta-9 THC. It’s relaxing…but not too relaxing…uplifting, but not too intoxicating…we think you get the idea. Its ability to bind to so many types of endocannabinoid receptors means it basically balances itself out.

While some people actually prefer the overpowering bliss of delta-9, most people like delta-8’s gentle upliftment much more. Especially if they opt for a high-strength delta-8 syrup!

Summing things up

At DD8 we offer an extensive selection of delta-8 syrup products for consumers to choose from. In addition to being premium, our products are fun, affordable, and easy to take!

Try delta-8 THC for yourself to see what we mean. Just in case you didn’t get the message, we’d suggest delta-8 syrup as a top product choice.
