What Is Distillate Oil?
Distillate oil (sometimes just called distillates) is a concentrated, potent form of a specific cannabinoid. If you’ve had edible or vape, the main ingredient was probably some kind of distillate! Since the process to make distillates isolates a specific cannabinoid in cannabis, it’s easy to see products like THC distillate, CBD distillate, and even delta 8 distillate.
Unlike smoking or vaping flower, the only thing you get from distillate oil is the targeted cannabinoid. It’s a great way to hone in on a specific part of cannabis without dealing with other cannabinoids or terpenes that might affect the taste, smell, or overall effect of the product.
Uses for Distillate Oil
Someone might choose a distillate syringe if they:
- Want a cost-effective way to vape. It’s cheaper to refill carts than buy new ones.
- Use a less potent form of cannabis. Delta 8 provides a softer, more mild high, so some customers may prefer a more potent form if they want a comparable high to traditional thc products.
- Enjoy dabbing. Distillate syringes are a mess-free way to place oil on a dab rig!
- Need their flower to have more punch. Distillate can be dropped in bowls and blunts to give your favorite bud a real kick!
How to Use Distillate Oil
While distillate syringes are often used to refill vape carts, there are several other ways they can be used, too. You can put drops of distillate on a dab nail and enjoy it in a dab rig, and you can even put drops in blunts or in the bowl of a glass pipe for punchy, super potent hits.

How do I use delta 8 distillate?
As we mentioned before, delta 8 distillate is best for cannabis veterans, it’s potent stuff! Add it to flower and roll your own blunts (but it’ll get sticky), smoke it up in a vape device or dab rig… The list goes on, get creative!
What’s the difference between delta 8 and delta 9 distillates?
The difference between delta 8 THC and delta 9 THC is mainly chemical. Actually, its chemical structure. Delta 8 THC is so similar to delta 9, it’s considered an isomer. In fact, they both come from hemp or cannabis sativa, however, delta 8 is instead derived directly from hemp or CBD. This allows it to remain legal under the 2018 farm bill, which requires that all hemp derivatives must contain less than 0.3% delta 9 THC content. Of course, delta 9 is not yet legal everywhere. Delta 8 can be a great option for people not finding relief with CBD, too.
